THE ROLE OF UNREALITY IN THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE: A STUDY CONDUCTED FROM ANTONIO MILLÁN-PUELLES’ THEORY OF THE PURE OBJECT

Abstract
It is our goal to address in this article one of the key aspects in which professor Antonio Millán-Puelles has contributed to the foundation of the realistic theory of knowledge in his Theory of the Pure Object. Through the analysis of key passages in his work we will show that logical properties are unreal, specifically entities of reason whose real existence is apodictically impossible (since they are only in the mind), but at the same time essential in the field of epistemological realism. Its importance lies in the fact that the logical properties attributed to objects of knowledge allow for the construction of logical discourse and thus advance scientific knowledge because, despite being unreal, these properties have a foundation in reality itself.
