Presentation: Memory, Existence, and Commitment
Main Article Content
Abstract
This new issue of Carthaginensia opens with an article by José Carlos Carvalho, who passed away during the editing process. His reflection on biblical justice and memory in the construction of the Common Home constitutes a legacy that honors his intellectual and spiritual commitment. A commitment that the journal has upheld since its beginnings and that reveals how the articles comprising this volume revolve around a shared concern: to understand the world from a perspective that unites thought and life, reason and faith, history and hope. Far from constituting a repertoire of disparate topics, the collection offers a comprehensive vision of the ways in which theology, philosophy, and history intersect today in a common effort to rethink what it means to be human. In times of fragmentation and partial discourses, these pages seek to restore a unity of knowledge that is not uniformity, but harmony in difference.
