Creo en la Iglesia I believe in the Church
Main Article Content
Abstract
Abstract: Credo in Spiritum Sanctum Ecclesiam sanctam: the Apostles’ Creed, as we know, places the confession of faith “in the Church,” or rather, “believing the holy Church” in the third part of the Trinitarian structure of the creed i.e, as a development of the confession of faith in the Holy Spirit. Henri de Lubac says: “Faith (...) is ecclesial in its way, is theological in purpose and principle.” The purpose of this article is to question the meaning of “church mode” of faith. We propose three steps. In the first, we will discuss the mode of ecclesial faith as it happens in the confession of faith: faith, in fact, in history exists and is given only as “confession.” From this statement, it seems appropriate to consider, secondly, the significance to the Church’s way of faith for understanding the mission of the Church and evangelization. Finally, the mode of ecclesial faith leads us to reflect on all the ecclesial dimensions of Christian existence.
