Abstract

The article presents the relationship between the Canticle of the Creatures and the Centenaries that the Franciscan Family has been celebrating since 2023, which evoke a series of events that significantly marked the last years of Francis of Assisi’s life, explaining how these events gradually turned into a song of praise that, springing from Francis’ heart in love, rises up towards God, fraternally embracing all creatures. Subsequently, the research focuses on the text of the Canticle through an articulated reflection on the verbs stop, contemplate and take care, which express the itinerary to be followed by anyone who accepts the invitation of the Saint of Assisi to be a true ioculator Dei.
