Abstract

This article addresses the current situation of the Catholic Church in relation to the sexual abuse crisis. Likewise, the different positions that are being generated in the midst of said crisis are analyzed. After this analysis we move on to the very nature of the Church and the need for it even today despite this or other crises. The central theme of revelation and salvation offered in Christ, redeemer of human nature itself, is addressed. Finally, a new stage is offered for the Church after the crisis of conversion abuses and essential consolidation. This research has a great scope in the midst of the current situation of the Church and wants to be a fundamental contribution before moving on to issues of intervention or prevention. At a methodological level, two texts by Joseph Ratzinger are followed that help to see the problem from a more adjusted and balanced position without the nervousness of giving quick and immature answers.
