Abstract
El deseo de profundas reformas emprendido por la dinastía borbónica en el siglo XVIII, y acrecentado durante el último tercio del siglo, bajo el gobierno de Carlos III, encontró un frente para la crítica en las luminarias que configuraron la visión espacial de los templos católicos, tema que generó un profundo debate en el que los tradicionalistas no se mostraron impasibles. La detracción de esta práctica, fuertemente arraigada en la cultura barroca, se manifestó desde distintos ámbitos de actuación. Como respuesta a todas las medidas y críticas, se encontraba la otra cara de la moneda, que estuvo presidida por el tratado de Juan González Villar que se trazó como principal objetivo legitimar la práctica de las sagradas luminarias defendiendo su uso en la tradición cristiana a lo largo de la historia.
Abstract: There was a Desire of deeper reforms boosted by the Bourbon dynasty in the XVIII Century. This Desire was increased in the last third of the century, when governating Charles III, who found a forefront for the critics in the luminaires. The luminaires created a special vision of the Catholic temples. This issue generated a deeper debate which was very deep-rooted in the Baroque culture, was showed from different fields. On the other side, Juan González Villar created a treaty was legitimate the practise of the Sacred luminaires justificating such use in the Christian tradition along the history.
