Amor y misericordia de Dios En la óptica teológica de Hans Urs von Balthasar Love and Mercy in the Theological perspective of Han Urs von Balthasar
Main Article Content
Abstract
Summary: This article offers a general overview of the theological concept of mercy in the thought of Hans Urs von Balthasar. The first part expounds the central theme of love in his thought, and the place of mercy within it. The second part proposes three features of the theological perspective of God's mercy with the theology of Hans Urs von Balthasar, in order to indicate merely the vanishing points of his perspective, and not the content of the whole picture, since the extent and the depth of his thought is so great. As is characteristic of the Swiss theologian, Scripture and Tradition are given voice to catch up the essential elements, which are: love and mercy in creation, the pro nobis of the ecclesial Creed, and the place of mercy within the divine attributes. The concluding paragraph considers the fecundity of divine mercy in the “entrails of mercy" that characterize the Christian.
