Abstract
El artículo trata de las coincidencias temporales (1964-1968) en que nacieron la teología política y la teología de la liberación, si bien en dos contextos culturales y circunstancias diversas. Hay que tener presente, además, que tanto una como otra no suponen un movimiento teológico unitario. En ambos casos el concepto es colectivo y, aunque giran en una misma dirección, abarcan realidades muy distintas. Finalmente se analizan las posibles coincidencias e incidencias ante el futuro del cristianismo en sendas partes del Atlántico.
