Abstract
El presente artículo analiza las características principales de la sociedad contemporánea según la sociología de la religión en Peter L. Berger. Analizamos en primer lugar su marco teórico, la sociología del conocimiento, y después su aplicación a la sociología de la religión. Por último, reflexionamos sobre la influencia la sociedad contemporánea en la fe cristiana, y los retos que presenta, tanto a nivel institucional como de conciencia. La sociedad contemporánea es una sociedad plural, y aunque presenta importantes ámbitos de secularización, la religión y la creencia no han desaparecido. Por tanto, el pluralismo se ha convertido en el reto más importante para la fe cristiana en el s. XXI.
Abstract: This article analyzes the main characteristics of contemporary society according to the sociology of religion in Peter L. Berger. We analyze first its theoretical framework, the sociology of knowledge, and then its application to the sociology of religion. Finally, we reflect on the influence of contemporary society on the christian faith, and the challenges it presents, both at an institutional level and as a conscience. Contemporary society is a plural society, and although it presents important areas of secularization, religion and belief have not disappeared. Therefore, pluralism has become the most important challenge for the christian faith in the s. XXI.
