Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this work is to describe the way in which modern political theories are founded on the concepts and doctrines of medieval formalist scholasticism. From the formal ex natura rei distinction of Duns Scotus, modern political philosophy will abandon the Aristotelian bases to find its foundation in the distinction between two divine powers: potentia Dei absoluta / ordinata.
